FollowWith Elbow Healed, Djokovic To Make Return At Davis Cup
Novak Djokovic will return to action this weekend when Serbia faces Spain in a Davis Cup quarterfinal tie. After a fourth-round loss at Indian Wells and skipping Miami, he stated that he is ready to go.
“I haven't had too many matches recently, and that's what I need to get back in shape,” Djokovic said. “I skipped Miami and I haven't done much in Indian Wells, so the start of the season wasn't ideal,” Djokovic said. “I had luck and pleasure to play at an exceptionally high level for six years and had fantastic results. Things are a bit different now. I needed some rest.”
Djokovic has been in a slump since last year's French Open and has seen Andy Murray take the world no. 1 spot.
Serbia's lone Davis Cup title came in 2010.
